Stellar Dominion
Privacy Policy
No Google account is required to play. Cloud save and in-app purchases use your existing Google account if you choose to enable them; if you skip those features the Game still runs fully offline with local-only saves.
1. Who we are
Stellar Dominion (“the Game”) is developed and published as an independent project (“the Developer”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at the email address listed in Section 11.
2. What data the Game stores on your device
All gameplay state — your wallet, colonies, ships, research, achievements, settings, onboarding progress, and similar in-game information — is saved locally in your device’s app storage using Android’s standard SharedPreferences mechanism. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud save (see Section 6).
Uninstalling the Game, or clearing its app data from Android Settings, removes this on-device data.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not ask you to create an account.
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, address, or contacts.
- We do not collect your precise location. (See Section 7 for the coarse, IP-derived location processed by AdMob.)
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs to record your in-game behaviour.
- We do not collect crash reports that identify you. If the Game hits a technical error, a diagnostic report (device model, OS version, app version, the error’s technical trace, and recent technical log lines) may be sent to Sentry, our error-monitoring provider, strictly so we can find and fix the bug. These reports contain no name, no email, no save contents, and no Advertising ID, and are retained for at most 90 days. (See Section 7 for the separate SDK-side telemetry the Google Mobile Ads SDK sends Google about itself.)
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
4. In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)
The Game offers optional in-app purchases (Ω bundles, ad-free upgrade, ATLAS Pro). These are processed entirely by Google Play Billing.
- Google handles the payment, your billing identity, and the transaction record. We receive only a purchase confirmation that lets the Game grant you the item you bought.
- We do not see your credit card, billing address, or Google account password.
- To prevent purchase fraud, the purchase token Google issues for each transaction is sent to our verification server (a Google Cloud Function) which checks it against Google’s Play Developer API before the item is granted. The token identifies the transaction, not you, and we do not retain it after verification.
- Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Refunds
All purchases made through the Game are processed by Google Play Billing, and Google’s own refund policy applies in the first instance.
- Within 48 hours of purchase: request a refund directly through the Google Play Store. Google handles this automatically; you do not need to contact us. Google’s refund guide.
- After 48 hours: email kartisan3d@gmail.com with your purchase order ID (from Google Play receipts) and a brief description of the issue. We reply to every message and target an initial response within 5 business days.
Our default position: all in-app purchases are final and non-refundable once delivered. This is the industry standard for digital goods that are consumed immediately (currency packs, permanent upgrades).
We will consider refunds at our discretion in cases such as:
- Unauthorised purchases made by a child or other account holder.
- Technical failures where the purchased item was charged but not delivered. Before contacting us, please try the “Restore Purchases” button in the in-game ATLAS settings — most missing entitlements re-apply automatically because Google Play tracks the purchase server-side.
- Genuine accidental purchases reported promptly.
Non-refundable items. Virtual currency that has already been spent inside the Game, multipliers that have already been applied to your account, and consumable items that have been used cannot be refunded.
Lost progress. Stellar Dominion provides several independent safety nets — local autosave, opt-in cloud save via Google Play Games, and automatic IAP entitlement restoration on every launch. If you believe progress has been lost, please try the “Restore Purchases” and cloud-save options in the in-game ATLAS settings first, then contact us and we will do our best to help before discussing a refund.
Statutory rights. Nothing in this policy limits consumer rights you may have under applicable law in your country, including (where applicable) EU/EEA/UK rights to withdraw from a digital contract where digital delivery has not yet begun.
6. Cloud save (optional, via Google Play Games Services)
If you choose to enable cloud save, the Game uses Google Play Games Services to sign you in with your existing Google account and to back up your save file to Google’s snapshot storage.
- When enabled, the Game receives a Play Games player identifier so it can read and write your snapshot. We do not receive your email address or real name from Play Games.
- The snapshot stored in Google’s servers contains the same game state described in Section 2. It does not contain personal information.
- You can sign out at any time from the in-game settings. You can also delete your snapshots through the Google Play Games app.
- Google’s handling of Play Games data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Advertising (via Google AdMob)
The Game serves ads through Google AdMob in three placements: a small banner displayed at the top of the screen during normal play, occasional full-screen interstitial ads shown at natural break points (for example, after reaching a new star system), and optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch in exchange for in-game bonuses. Interstitial ads are frequency-capped, are not shown during your first play sessions, and never interrupt you mid-action. The banner and all interstitial ads are removed by the in-app “Ad-Free” or “ATLAS Pro” upgrade.
- To deliver and measure ads, AdMob processes your device’s Advertising ID, basic device information (model, OS version, language), coarse location derived from your IP address, and interactions with the ads themselves (impressions, taps, frequency-cap counters).
- The Google Mobile Ads SDK also sends Google a small amount of SDK-side diagnostic and crash telemetry. This concerns the ad SDK’s own operation, not your in-game behaviour.
- If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the Game shows a consent form (Google’s User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested. You can review, change, or withdraw that consent at any time inside the Game: open the ATLAS console → PRIVACY → “Privacy options”. Withdrawing consent stops personalised ad processing; no ads are requested without a valid consent state.
- You can reset or limit your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings (“Privacy” → “Ads”), which causes AdMob to fall back to non-personalised ads.
- Purchasing the in-app “Ad-Free” upgrade — or the “ATLAS Pro” upgrade, which includes it — removes the banner and all interstitial ads. The optional rewarded-ad entry points remain available so you can still choose to watch an ad for an in-game reward; if you never tap them, AdMob receives no data. ATLAS Pro additionally removes the speed-up rewarded ad by unlocking free 2×/4× speed.
- Google’s handling of advertising data is governed by the Google Ads Privacy Notice.
8. Push notifications
The Game can send re-engagement reminders (for example, “your colonies have produced offline rewards”). These notifications are scheduled entirely locally on your device using Android’s standard notification system. The Game does not use Firebase Cloud Messaging or any other remote push service, and no server contacts your device to deliver them.
You can disable notifications at any time from Android Settings or by declining the system permission prompt the first time it is offered.
9. Children
The Game is rated for a general audience but is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The optional Google services described above (Play Billing, Play Games, AdMob) are subject to Google’s own age-related policies.
10. Your choices
- On-device data: clear it any time via Android Settings → Apps → Stellar Dominion → Storage → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the Game.
- Cloud save: sign out from the in-game settings; delete snapshots from the Google Play Games app.
- Ads: reset or limit your Advertising ID in Android Settings; change or withdraw your ad-consent answer in-game (ATLAS → PRIVACY → “Privacy options”, shown in regions where consent applies); purchase the in-app Ad-Free upgrade.
- Notifications: deny the system permission, or disable from Android Settings → Notifications.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the Game handles data, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will also be surfaced in-game on next launch.
12. Contact
